One week later

Why am I still here?

I’ve asked myself this very question so many times, and I still don’t have an answer. I’ve tried to leave and to keep going with my plan, but I can’t seem to actually do it. I know I need to put this pack behind me soon, before I fuck up and give into this intense pull towards my mate.

Not to mention, it’s never been more clear that the wolves despise us. I’m so glad I’ve kept my cloaking spell over me, because it seems this pack is out for blood. Word broke out a week ago that not only has Ryker mated a witch, but now, a pup has gone missing.

The packs are blaming Luna, even though she wouldn’t hurt a damn fly. She’s the sweetest and most pure witch I’ve ever met, so I know the wolves are acting out of anger and fear. I blame the old fuckers, trying to run the show, while The Alpha is gone.

I swear, I would give my left ovary to have some one on one time with The Elders.

The way they’re handling everything is beyond ridiculous, and the more time I spend here, the more I realize how horrible it would be to stay. Why would I want to be treated like Luna has been? Ryker has done his best to keep her away from his pack mates, but they are relentless. I wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t planning to storm into their room with pitchforks and fire.

I know that Ryker would never allow his mate to be put in any danger, and he’ll do whatever he needs to in order to keep Luna safe. It’s just no one is willing to stop for one second to listen, because Luna is special. She needs to be protected at all costs, and I’ve decided to drop my cloaking spell, if things get worse.

Standing outside of their room now, I keep a watchful eye for the wolves that constantly walk by. I know they can hear Luna and Ryker arguing, and I try to ignore it. They’ve been at it for hours now, because Luna wants to talk to the pack, but Ryker claims it’s not safe.

Typical male.

Crossing my arms, I lean my head against the wall, trying to clear my mind. It’s not easy with everything going on around me, but I’ve trained my mind to blank when necessary. Now is one of those times, because I don’t know how much longer I can keep up with hiding. There will come a time that I will have to make my presence known, but it has to be at the right time. If I do it too soon, all of my plans may go up in flames. However, if I do it too late, it could cause more problems along the way.

I’m stuck in a dilemma, and I have no idea what to do.

Clenching my jaw, I push down the wave of anguish that rushes through me.
